Linder Construction Update (2/14/13)

posted Feb 14, 2013, 12:58 PM by P Chan   [ updated Feb 14, 2013, 2:04 PM ]

Nighttime lane restrictions next three weeks on Idaho 44

Traffic will be restricted at night on Idaho 44 from W. State Street to just east of the Idaho 44/Linder Road intersection beginning Sunday (Feb. 17). The Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) will be replacing irrigation pipes under the roadway.

  • Flaggers will direct traffic through the construction zone from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • Traffic will be restricted to one lane at various times during the night. During the day, construction will be limited to the shoulder and side of the roadway and will not restrict traffic.
  • Restrictions will be in place Sunday through Thursday for each of the next three weeks.

Your patience is appreciated as ITD works on these improvements.

Motorists can expect delays during construction. Plan extra time for trips and, if possible, find an alternate route.

State Highway 44/State/Ballantyne

posted Jan 24, 2011, 12:18 PM by P Chan   [ updated Jan 24, 2011, 12:25 PM ]

Watch for the Ballantyne/State Street realignment to begin this spring. It may be an inconvenience for a few months but we will have a much safer intersection to exit onto State Hwy 44 with a signal. This will also give us a controlled pedestrian access to the River Pathway.

From  Ada County Highway District Website

Project Purpose
  • Improve traffic safety at the State Street/State Highway 44 intersection by:
  • Increasing sight distance at SH 44 and State Street intersection
  • Eliminating the intersection along SH 44 curve
  • Enhance pedestrian safety and accessibility by installing sidewalks

Project Description
  • Realign State Street and Ballantyne Lane to connect to State Highway 44 about 1,300 feet west of the current State Street intersection
  • Pending approval of the Idaho Transportation Department, a traffic signal will be installed at the new SH 44/State Street intersection
  • Addition of some 400 feet of sidewalk to connect to the existing sidewalks on State Street on the project's east end
